We are seeking a full-time day shift PTA to join our team.
At Colleton Medical Center we are looking for a dedicated, highly motivated and well-rounded individual whom is seeking a rewarding job in a small community hospital. We serve patients in all stages of recovery by offering services in the acute hospital setting, on our award-winning 14-bed rehabilitation unit and in our out-patient clinic located on hospital property. Our rehab unit is newly Stroke Certified as of 2023 and steady growing to better serve our community. No matter the setting we strive to offer each patient individualized treatments with a focus on patient education.

Job Summary and Qualifications
In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team the Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting in the treatment plan to achieve the goals of the patient as outlined by the Physical Therapist. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and department outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
* You will observe patients before, during and after therapy while noting their status and reporting the results to the Physical Therapist
* You will assist the patient in performing different exercises as outlined in the treatment plan provided by the Physical Therapist
* You will help the patient learn how to use adaptive equipment
* You will provide education to the patient/family and effectively document the therapy process
What qualifications you may need:
* Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistance is required
* Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state which you practice, in accordance with law and regulation
* A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
* Prior acute care and/or inpatient rehab experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is preferred.
