Summary The Internal Compliance Specialist serves as the Department of Safety's first resource for, and manager of, keeping the department's activities within guidelines/compliance, regulations and ethical expectations of internal and external obligations. The incumbent's duties include but are not limited to ensuring monitoring business operations and Safety remains compliant with the Quality Management System Plant (QMSP). Also provides general oversight in Corrective Action Plans, tracks department equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment provision. Supports the development of new procedures, forms and checklists, record retention and other tasks to ensure Safety's operations are conducted in accordance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. Essential Functions Principal Job Duties
- Serves as the QMSP Champion for the Department of Safety.
- Serves as the Safety Department's Document Control Manager and Records Manager, providing quality assurance and quality control functions in Department of Safety's management of its controlled documents.
- Serves as the Department of Safety point of contact for monitoring completion of all CAPs, iCAPAs or any other regulatory requirement assigned to the Department of Safety.
- Maintains tracking documents of Department of Safety actions to comply with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Monitors Department of Safety's compliance with all policies, plans and initiatives as required by the Authority, such as Diversity plan, ADA compliance, MetroMoves, Audit & Compliance audits, etc. and provides follow-up on non-compliance issues.
- Provides compliance status reports to Department of Safety leadership, external and internal regulators and conduct briefings on those reports.
- Acts as Department of Safety Asset Management and point of contact for radios and other safety sensitive departmental assets.
- Serves as point of contact for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ordering for Department of Safety as well as ensuring compliance to internal and agency-wide supply chain policies.
Other Duties
- Support internal communications and reporting, such as all-hands meetings, weekly reports to the Chief Safety Officer, etc.
- Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles.
