Your Specific Responsibilities:
This OPS clerk position will assist the Dental Hygienist in the School-Based Dental Sealant Program in Flagler County schools. This position is responsible for assisting the Dental Hygienist in the schools, collecting data, and entering data into state databases.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Distribute and collect consent forms.
+ Effectively interact daily with preschool and school age children, addressing questions, fears, and behavioral issues
+ Review all documents for positive consent to provide services for each child participant, confirming parent/guardian signature.
+ Accurately document services provided to children in HMS (Health Management System).
+ Enter required data into the SEALS (Sealant Efficiency Assessment for Locals and States), and Floss databases.
+ Retrieve client information from FLMMIS and FLSHOTS
+ Register clients in HMS, and Eagelsoft.
+ Verify insurance through FLMMIS, Change Healthcare.
+ Print service histories from insurance web portals to ensure insurance guidelines are being followed.
+ Complete mandated forms with 100% accuracy
+ Represent the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County in a positive and informative manner, using an interpreter when necessary.
+ Effectively interact with school personnel, including school administrators, teachers, custodial staff, and school health personnel
+ Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner as determined by the State School-Based Dental Sealant Program
+ Represent DOH-Flagler at school functions; interact effectively with parents/guardians, students, community members, school administrators, school health staff, and teachers.
+ Serves as a runner in the schools when taking children to and from their classrooms.
+ Provides back up clerical duties to the fixed dental clinic as assigned by supervisor.
+ Assists Dental Hygienist with oral health education and screenings.
+ Monitor work e-mail.
+ Enter time worked in People First and EARS
Other Duties:
+ Performs front desk duties, as needed.
+ Attend mandatory trainings.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge and experience in working with children.
+ Ability to work with diverse population.
+ Ability to maintain confidential information.
+ Ability to operate basic office equipment and use a telephone.
+ Ability to interact professionally with other DOH staff and the public and provide excellent customer service.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the internet and computer systems such as Microsoft, Office, Excel, and entering data into a database.
+ Ability to accurately document patient records.
Qualifications:
Minimum
+ A valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
+ Must be comfortable interacting with children.
+ Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.
PREFERRED
+ Knowledge of dental terminology
+ Knowledge of Eagle soft Software a plus
+ Knowledge of HMS State of Florida a plus
+ Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
+ A minimum of one (1) year clerical or data entry work experience
