This position provides leadership and direction to staff and is responsible for ensuring all clinical projects and tasks related to Heart and Vascular are completed timely.Description of Job Responsibilities:* Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others.* Evaluates staff performance and patient outcomes and implements improvement activities to assure safe, quality patient care for Heart & Vascular patients.* Assures efficient staffing/patient care assignments according to patient care needs, including biophysical, psychosocial and age specific needs, and competency of staff within the Rex Heart & Vascular Hospital.* Prepares and maintains accountability for unit budget(s) and utilization of resources.* Plans, coordinates and integrates clinical department services within the department and with other departments throughout the organization.* Assures the implementation of policies & procedures that guide and support the provision of services.* Coordinates unit performance improvement activities. Evaluates staff performance and patient outcomes and implements improvement activities to assure safe quality patient care, using evidenced based management.Other InformationEducation Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.Licensure/Certification Requirements:- Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice in North Carolina.- BCLSProfessional Experience Requirements:- Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience required. Procedural experience preferred.
