The ideal candidate will currently reside within or around these locations. JOB SUMMARY: The Area Facilities Manager (AFM) is responsible for the training & development of our Club Technician's abilities to maintain the functionality, safety, and appearance of six to 10 club locations. This is achieved by regular training through demonstration and mentorship within the market assigned. The AFM is a multi-unit liaison between Facilities & Operations and closely partners with Director of Facilities, Directors of Operations, Area Managers, and General Managers of our Clubs. Additionally, the AFM will lead emergency response efforts, including assessment, temporary repair measures and recommendations for permanent solutions. The AFM assists the Directors of Operations, Area Managers, and General Managers with repair, maintenance, and capital recommendations to the Support Center that are resourceful, cost conscientious and motivated by creating or maintaining a positive Member Experience. The AFM will also play a critical role in the implementation of new projects and initiatives.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical training and develop aptitude for our Club Technicians in the clubs. This is primarily achieved by performing hands-on training & development of Club Technicians using existing issues to demonstrate live troubleshooting and repair while providing learning opportunities to one or more Club Technicians in any and all repair & maintenance needs of our buildings, equipment and pools
- Support General Managers by providing insights that assist them in managing Club Technician performance, prioritization, efficiency, and execution of their work order queue in our Club Maintenance Management System
- Regularly inspects Clubs in assigned market, partnering with the Directors of Operations, Area Managers, and General Managers, to identify needs and drive improvement and/or enhancements in the repair & maintenance of our Facilities and Equipment
- Provide all necessary communication to operational leaders, support center leaders and other functional teams on major repair work, temporary shut-downs and closures and necessary member or team member communication of the same
- Tour Clubs in assigned market at least Quarterly with their respective Area Managers and provide tour report with insights on successes and opportunities
- Leads their assigned market in emergency response efforts, including assessment, temporary repair measures and recommendations for permanent solutions
- Expected to respond to natural disasters in market assigned, or neighboring markets as needed, to provide emergency response efforts and support
- Participate in and execute assigned projects or initiatives from the Director of Facilities
- Provide analysis and recommendations regarding repair vs. replacement decisions to the Support Center
- Expected to support the development of training and resource materials including research, process mapping, and SOP development, particularly in areas of expertise and as otherwise assigned by the Director of Facilities
- Manage and execute Capital Projects as assigned
- Supervise capital and construction projects during nights & weekends as needed, requested, or required
- Ensure that In-Shape Family Fitness and OSHA safety standards and protocols are being met within our Clubs and course-correct with General Managers and Support Center team as required
- Attend general staff meetings as conducted by the Director Facilities, Director of Operations, or other functional leaders as required

- Two to four years of experience working in Health Club, Hospitality, Retail, Property Management, Assisted Living Community, or Industrial Environment
- Experience managing multi-trade repair projects (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
- Ability to train others in Repair & Maintenance in one-on-one, group, and online settings
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent execution and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage multiple repair projects
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and positively influence working teams
- Ability to work with interruptions, changing priorities, and a busy work environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with peers, management, and cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated with high-energy and a positive attitude
- Displays good judgement, discretion, and confidentiality in handling important and/or sensitive company information and communicating it with others
- Experience in MS Office with an emphasis in Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Must be able to travel to Clubs within assigned market regularly, and throughout Company as needed
