The Telemetry Technician position provides support to the licensed staff for Inpatient Acute Care Services. The Telemetry Tech role is responsible for performing non-nursing duties at the nurse's station, including clerical duties as assigned, to observe and report cardiac rhythms, and assist nursing staff as needed with physical care of patients. Job Requirements A working knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge and skills required to provide excellent patient care. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. License/Certification: Current OSBN (Oregon State Board of Nursing) CNA certification required. Current BLS certification through American Heart Association required. National Telemetry Tech Certification within 6 months and renewed as required by certification body. Education and/or Experience: Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a certified Nursing Assistant program. Minimum Experience: Acute care facility experience preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers. Normal or corrected vision is required. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment. Occasional exposure to infectious diseases. Works inside. Long shifts necessary at times. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for up to 12 hours. Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
