Job Title: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Thursday with some Fridays, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (with flexibility as the office grows)
Start Date: Late October 2024
Salary Range: $17 - $19 per hour

About Us:
We are a charming, single-doctor, privately-owned start-up pediatric dental office. Our mission is to make every dental appointment a positive experience for children and their parents. As our Pediatric Dental Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in helping us achieve this mission.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in patient care: Partner with Dr. Milca and our EFDA during dental procedures, ensuring each visit is smooth, comfortable, and stress-free for our young patients.
- X-ray certification: Show off your skills by taking and processing dental X-rays with precision and care.
- Sterilization: Keep our practice running safely and smoothly by managing the sterilization of instruments to the highest standards.
- Intraoral photography: Capture detailed intraoral photos that help with accurate diagnoses and patient education.
- Patient interaction: Be the friendly face that greets patients and their families, making them feel at home and ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.

Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year dental assisting experience (Newly certified RDAs welcome)
- CPR and X-ray certifications
- Professional and punctual
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Comfortable working with children, demonstrating patience and empathy
- Comfortable with dogs and enjoys them (we have 2 canine empolyees)
- Excellent understanding of dental procedures and protocols and/or willingness to learn outside of office hours if needed
- Proactive learner with a positive attitude
Note: At this time, we are not looking for an EFDA or a Dental Hygienist, but we are always open to meeting individuals who align with our vision!
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the warm, welcoming first point of contact for our patients
- Organize and maintain inventory for dental supplies and instruments
- Prepare and sterilize the operatory and dental instruments pre and post-treatment
- Perform dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Provide oral hygiene instructions post-dental procedures
- Perform administrative and housekeeping tasks as needed
- Update and manage patient records with a commitment to confidentiality
- Uphold strict compliance with safety and infection control regulations
- Assist in restorative procedures, crowns, pulpotomies, extractions, frenectomy procedures, surgeries, emergencies, and special healthcare needs cases
