Job Description:
The Development Manager leads and supports teams through the engineering development process for the design, development, and implementation of the server products. This role is primarily focused on program management for enterprise server design, development, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in schedule management and resource allocation. The role also involves presenting product status, addressing critical issues, providing quality updates to executive leadership. A key responsibility is driving feasibility studies, collaborating with technical teams, and aligning solutions to address complex program challenges.
The Development Manager sometimes needs to solve complex challenges and often contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. The role works on complex problems where analysis requires evaluating multiple factors, and provide guidance to cross-functional teams. Significant independent judgment is exercised to determine the best methods for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Leadership: Manage and lead cross-functional teams, driving the engineering solution and implementation of a system or component of a product or service offering.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate activities among internal and external functional teams, tracking progress against the established plan. Make decisions to update product status and resource allocations as needed to meet product requirements and development timelines.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular product progress updates, escalate critical issues, and conduct issue analysis for key stakeholders. Collaborate with management and internal manufacturing and development teams to implement changes to product, process, or program plans to resolve issues and ensure adherence to budgets, product roadmaps, and schedules.
Sustaining Engineering Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for sustaining engineering teams, facilitating communication between technical engineering teams and core functions such as product management, operations, supply chain, and quality assurance.
Customer & Manufacturing Issues Escalations: Lead customer issue resolutions, manufacturing issue escalations, field quality analysis, and the integration of custom solutions.
Post-Launch Management: Lead post-launch option qualification and approval of new features and configurations for shipping servers.
Issues Management: Track and drive the resolution of open issues on sustaining platforms.
Material Preparation: Oversee the preparation and tracking of system samples and related materials.
