The Round Rock ISD Purchasing Office ensures the efficient acquisition of goods, services, construction, and professional services for the District's schools and departments, in alignment with state and federal law, school board policies, and sound business practices. As a public entity, Round Rock ISD strives to procure the best products, materials, and services at the most competitive prices, while adhering to relevant statutes and policies. The Purchasing Department supports the District's mission by maintaining transparency, fiscal responsibility, and operational excellence.

About the Role:

The Manager of Purchasing will lead the routine operations, administration, and promotion of key procurement programs, including the Supplier Diversity Program, vendor management program, and the electronic procurement system. This role will oversee purchasing processes, develop and enforce policies, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and District policies. Reporting to the leadership team, the Manager of Purchasing will play a pivotal role in driving organizational efficiency and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Purchasing Office operations, staff, and policy implementation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships and lead high-level competitive procurement processes.
• Drive departmental improvements and align purchasing strategies with District needs.
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff while fostering a positive team culture.
• Engage with community, governmental, and business stakeholders to promote District initiatives.

Entry Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years of related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and vendor management systems.
