Job Summary:

As a Superintendent your role is to be the core link between Management and all ongoing construction projects including coordination and management of all onsite activities, including safety, logistics, scheduling, day-to-day trade activities, document management, meetings, compliance, completion, and turnover. You will be working hand in hand with the Management team impacting high-level company decision making, procedures, and will be directly rewarded for the company's success and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organization and Communication with Management: You will be responsible for managing all Assistant Superintendents on all active projects. You will lead this team and relay important information to management. You will run weekly meetings with Management to review scheduling, projected cash flow for each job, budgeting, and more.
  • Construction Acumen: General overall knowledge of construction including the level of understanding in earthwork, foundation systems, building structure, envelope, MEP systems, finish detailing, logistic and trade sequencing as well as plan and document reading.
  • Onsite Management: Must act as a quality control representative to monitor and ensure the correction of any deficient workmanship and/or below quality work. Approve material requests and delivery. Walk with 3rd party inspections (i.e. geo-tech, structural engineer, fireproofing consultant) for activities directly supervised. Report deficiencies, problems, and delays to project manager.
  • Safety: Complete walk-throughs to ensure proper site and personnel safety is adhered to onsite. Interact with Project Manager for inspections and follow-up signoffs.
  • Project Documentation: Have a working knowledge of all project documentation and will coordinate and maintain documentation and their processes timely for such reports as daily reports, record drawings, SK's, Bulletins, Submittals, SCOs, ASIs. RFIs & CORs. Maintain QC book for activities directly supervised.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Scheduling: Assist in creating and managing project schedules, ensuring timely project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Budget Tracking: Support budget monitoring and cost tracking activities, including processing invoices and change orders.
  • Procurement: Assist in procurement processes, including obtaining quotes, issuing purchase orders, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Meeting Coordination: Schedule and coordinate project meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and document meeting minutes.
  • Reporting: Generate and distribute project status reports to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
  • Quality Control: Ensure adherence to quality standards by reviewing construction plans and conducting quality inspections.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the Boston area
  • Must have unrestricted CSL license. Boston ABC is a plus!
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in construction project administration or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software including Buildertrend and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of construction industry regulations and best practices.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
