Job Summary:Reporting to the Manager, IT Asset Management, the IT Asset Distribution Lead will oversee the efficient and strategic distribution and management of technology assets across the District. The IT Asset Distribution Lead is responsible for managing inventory, optimizing the supply chain, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the timely delivery of technology assets to schools, various departments, or locations. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, track asset utilization, and maintain accurate records. This role will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure efficient deployment, tracking, and maintenance of devices while optimizing resource allocation and enhancing productivity.
This Job will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:•Execute a device deployment strategy aligned with organizational goals and user requirements; Coordinate the distribution of devices to users or departments, ensuring timely delivery and setup.•Maintain an accurate inventory of devices, including laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals; Track device movement, usage, and status throughout their lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.•Provide various reports on device inventory, utilization, and lifecycle status for management and stakeholders, including dashboards to measure inventory accuracy and completeness; Ensure quality of hardware asset records within the Asset Management Repository system of record; Periodically validate the IT asset repository data accuracy and investigate discrepancies; Implement systems and processes for tracking device assets, including serial numbers, configurations, and locations.•Ensure that devices are properly set up with necessary software, asset tags, licenses, and access permissions; Perform ongoing analysis of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to resolve issues and identify improvements.•Aid in the monitoring of controls in the process by which hardware assets are purchased, received, deployed, and disposed; Review new hardware purchases to ensure inventory accuracy; Oversee the retirement and disposal process for outdated or decommissioned devices, ensuring data security, compliance with regulations, and proper disposal or recycling of electronic waste in accordance with environmental standards.•Work with internal teams to streamline and automate the request process, procurement, and deployment of hardware; Collaborate with IT teams to determine end-user device specifications and security policies.•Mentor and educate teammates on Hardware Asset Management (HAM) processes and procedures.•Other duties as assigned.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, this position must possess the following qualifications: Education Required: •Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, required.•Master's degree preferred.
Experience Required:•Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in asset distribution.•Demonstrated experience in asset distribution, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in progressively responsible roles.•Experience managing distribution processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations.•Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to asset distribution.•Experience working with distribution of software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.•Experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM)•Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions, purchase orders, and service agreements.•Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize distribution processes.

Conditions of EmploymentAs a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
- Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
