The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.Status: Part Time 7.5 hrShift: VARIED SHIFTDepartment: Transitional Care UnitPosition SummarySummary:The Recreational Therapist plans, implements and coordinates activities and interventions for the development, maintenance and expression of appropriate social and leisure lifestyles of patients admitted to the Unit. Performs a variety of duties involved in carrying out recreation programs in assigned areas and assists in planning programs.QualificationsResponsibilities:Education Required•Must complete in-house orientation program•Bachelors' Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or related field, required. •Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) National Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) required or CPRP through NRPA pending CTRS certification, required. Experience And Skills•Excellent interpersonal skills•Speaks, reads and writes English •One (1) year of experience as a Recreational Therapist, preferred. •Considerable knowledge of the therapeutic recreation principles, techniques and methods and their application to the population being served. •Knowledge of the physiological, sociological and psychological implications for the disease processes experienced by the Population being served.License/Certifications•Appropriate New York State Driver's License may be required, where applicable.•CTRSWorking ConditionsOther information:Working Conditions•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn•Prolonged standing and walking. •Moving in multiple positions (sitting, squatting, reaching). •Able to lift, move and assist patients with physical activities.
