BRIEF DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this position is to perform skilled maintenance, operate equipment and work with and assist crews in the field in a variety of construction and maintenance work, which contributes to the maintenance and support of parks, facilities, water utilities, sewers, streets, and other property. This is accomplished by operating heavy equipment, leading a crew, calibrating equipment, ensuring equipment and materials are sufficient, and repairing and constructing facilities or infrastructure. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice2 H Operates heavy equipment to work with and assist crews of maintenance workers in completing tasks. The ability to operate track and rubber tired excavators, graders, bulldozers and large front-end loaders.3 V Completes field operations by digging holes and trenches to repair and maintain water and sewer systems, streets and parks, backfilling holes and trenches, cleaning work sites, mixing and pouring materials, and cleaning up debris.4 H Maintains the safe and efficient operation of equipment by completing regular maintenance, reporting equipment failures, and repairing or replacing worn or damaged parts.JOB REQUIREMENTS:* Description of Minimum Job Requirements-Formal Education Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
