We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Facilities to join our dynamic restaurant group. This leadership role requires a proactive and resourceful professional with a deep understanding of hospitality and food service operations. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance, compliance, and construction projects across all locations while ensuring our facilities align with our brand standards. This role also demands strong budget management skills to optimize costs and ensure financial targets are met.
RESPONSIBILITIESPreventive Maintenance:
- Ensure the look and feel of all interiors and exteriors align with brand standards.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, cooking equipment, and plumbing systems.
- Coordinate regular services such as grease trap cleaning, oil pickups, ejector pit cleaning, hood cleaning, and regulatory inspections (e.g., fire alarm, sprinkler, cooking hood, fire extinguishers).
- Maintain comprehensive repair and preventive maintenance records while ensuring compliance with service contracts.
- Manage and coordinate contractor schedules for routine maintenance and repairs.
- Manage and maintain lighting, sound systems, and security cameras to ensure optimal functionality.
Daily Functions:
- Foster collaborative relationships with restaurant leadership and team members.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of all facilities to identify repair needs.
- Conduct routine restaurant inspections to uphold safety and brand standards.
- Oversee small-scale projects and report on progress, ensuring timelines and quality benchmarks are met.
- Monitor repair work orders for efficiency and quality of completion.
- Perform emergency HandyMan repairs and touch-ups to maintain the look and feel of dining areas.
Knowledge and Expertise:
- Provide expert knowledge to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, including DOH, FDNY, and building regulations.
- Guide troubleshooting and repairs for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and cooking equipment by collaborating with skilled contractors.
- Advise on the replacement and installation of basic electrical fixtures, including switches, receptacles, and lighting.
- Oversee minor plumbing repairs and refurbishments of furniture and fixtures as needed through vendor partnerships.
- Ensure the maintenance of restaurant exteriors, optimizing curb appeal.
- Promote and enforce safe work habits, including OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of fire alarm and emergency procedures to provide guidance and oversight.
New Projects and Construction:
- Assist in new construction projects, including planning, coordination, and execution as requested.
- Manage procurement of OS&E (Operating Supplies & Equipment) and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) for new and existing projects.
