You will also ensure that all permits, policies, and procedures are up-to-date and plant personnel understand their impacts on compliance. Location: Hybrid: Marble Hill, GA (3 days a week) Home based - 2 days a weekKey Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Manage environmental permitting process for East Hub sites to ensure operating permits do not expire; prepare/submit all necessary compliance reports; maintain all records required for compliance demonstration to regulatory agencies; represent IMERYS during environmental regulatory compliance inspections.
  • Work with the Regional Environmental Manager and Plant Team to implement proactive compliance plans, procedures, programs and training to ensure compliance with environmental permits and applicable regulations.
  • Initiate and develop environmental permit applications prior to expiration and respond to regulatory agency follow-up issues or requests for further information.
  • Provide technical support to daily environmental operations, waste sampling and characterization for offsite disposal/treatment; implement all required environmental sampling and stack testing; provide regulatory support to air pollution and wastewater treatment operations.
  • Reduce the impact on the local environment by pollution control, implementing plans for controlling wastes, conservation of flora and fauna, removal of hazardous substances and hydrocarbons, management of water in accordance with legislation and contractual requirements.
  • Become a subject matter expert of Imerys protocols concerning environmental programs and procedures, and support site interpretation and implementation.

  • Excellent people skills and ability to align people and resources toward organizational success.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate technical discipline (such as Environmental, Chemical, Engineering or related science).
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in facility environmental compliance, interpretation and permitting (i.e. Title V, Clean Water Act).
  • Professional Licenses: Environmental certifications such as CHMM, QEP, etc. are beneficial but not required.
Required Activities1. 80% Plant or Office2. Up to 20% travel to other IMERYS locations not in scope, consultant/vendor locations, and professional meetings. Variable field activities in Plant and Mining operations involve information, data collection, and collaboration with the operation at all levels. Physical activities may involve climbing stairs or ladders, hiking, working near chemicals, water bodies, and hot equipment.
