Once training is completed, you be provided with a company vehicle to conduct home visits to patients in the Lancaster/Lititz region. \n This position qualifies for a $5000.00 sign-on bonus with 2-year work commitment!\n \n \n Purpose:\n The Community Paramedic is responsible for staffing the daily operations of the Community Paramedicine Program as directed by the Community Health RN Director. Will perform home visits as directed and assist with program development as required. The Paramedic fulfills education and experiential requirements as established by the Medical Director, and performs other duties as assigned. Supports and upholds the mission, goals, and objectives, of the UPMC system at all times.\n \n Responsibilities:\n\nCarries out home visits with patients as directed.\nContacts Community Health Manager and/or Medical Director with any concerns observed in the field.\nCompletes documentation in a timely fashion.\nParticipates in scheduled and unscheduled outreach activities, representing the UPMC system.\nWhen on duty, dresses in a manner consistent with the established uniform policy.\nCompletes assigned duties with the highest degree of responsibility and professionalism.\nEnsures that all CP equipment and vehicles are clean and restocked in a timely manner.\nActively participates in quality assurance audits as may be required.\nDemonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with patients; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances, environment, or patient presentation.\nPerforms duties according to CP policies and procedures.\nAssists with any additional duties as requested.\nMaintains all required continuing education in accordance with UPMC, Life Team and State requirements based on level of certification.\n\nParamedic required.\nMinimum of 1-year experience in public health, EMS, health screenings or other health related field + current or previous licensure.\nProficient in MS Word/Excel.\nAbility to interact effectively with senior management, EMTs/paramedics, and program participants.\nReliable transportation.\nAbility to work early morning hours and weekend hours as necessary.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\n Paramedic certification required.\nDrivers License Required\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting\nAct 33\nAct 34\nAct 73 FBI Clearance\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
