Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Chef, Food Service Worker-General is responsible for a variety of tasks in relation to dining room service and front of the house operations. See job description for a complete list of requirements and responsibilities.Required Qualifications:Possess basic math and reading skillsPossess a customer service mentality and be able to effectively interact with students and guestsAbility to function in a high stress environmentAbility to follow instructions Ability to lift 30 poundsAbility to continuously stand and walk for the duration of an assigned shiftAdditional Responsibilities:Perform tasks related to dining room service and front of the house operationsPrepare food items while adhering to strict food safety handling protocolsWork effectively as a team contributor and be able to resolve conflicts autonomously with students and staffMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guestsClean all work areas and complete prep work 15 minutes prior to end of shift to allow manager or lead cook/crew leader to double check work areasMaintain clean prep areas, coolers, shelves, and floors in all work areasComplete and return appropriate temp and sanitation logs to manager at the end of each shiftMaintain mandated cooler shelf storage order guidelinesMaintain high standards of sanitationInform manager of damaged and unsafe equipment that needs to be repaired or replacedWork catering as deemed necessary for operational needsOther food service worker tasks may be assigned, if necessary, based on business needsBenefits:Union PositionHealth InsuranceDentalVisionFSA/ HSA/ FSA Dependent Care Basic Life & LTDVoluntary LifeRetirement PlanPaid Time OffEmployee Assistance ProgramParental Leave Notice of Non-Discrimination In keeping with its commitment to equal rights since it was founded in 1837, Knox College particularly welcomes applications from members of underrepresented groups.
