Fiscal responsibility for Respiratory Car, Pulmonary Physiology Lab, Sleep Disorders Center and regional sleep franchise. Maintain and further develop regional sleep medicine franchise._Title and Salary will be determined based upon education and experience._**Responsibilities:**+ Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines, including QA/QI program development, monitoring, and reporting.+ Maintains accreditation with PA Dept of Health, Joint Commission, CAP, and AASM.+ Demonstrates commitment to Service Excellence by understanding and meeting the needs of patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.+ Projects and recommends budgetary needs for Respiratory Care, Pulmonary Lab, Sleep Lab, and regional sleep lab franchise.+ Participates in planning and implementing goals, new programs, procedures, and services.+ Supervises daily operations, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and addressing complaints.+ Manages the lung screening program and ensures effective communication within the department.+ Develops relationships with regional management in respiratory care, pulmonary physiology, and sleep medicine.+ Provides 24/7 on-call coverage and ensures staff training in current and new technology.+ Manages services with contracted institutions and develops marketing and recruitment strategies.+ Stays updated on field developments and provides annual performance reviews and staff development.+ Revises and develops policies and procedures as needed. Promotes services through marketing and participation in health fairs.+ Performs duties of respiratory care shift coordinator and lead sleep technologist as needed. Maintains fiscal responsibility in all areas.+ Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory program required.+ AMA-approved BS degree in Respiratory Therapy or BS in a related field required.+ 5 years of clinical respiratory care experience, including management/leadership experience required.+ Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in Pennsylvania required.+ Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification required.+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.+ Respiratory therapists with RRT credentials from NBRC after July 1, 2002 must maintain certification under NBRC guidelines.**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.+ Osteopathic Respiratory Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)**UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran****If you have any questions about the position or would like to discuss the role in more detail, our recruiter is available to assist you and provide more information to help you determine if this opportunity is the right fit for you.
