Job DescriptionThis position learns CNC Machining through hands-on training including: blue print reading, tooling identification/selection, and basic machining set ups. This is an entry-level position and no prior experience in CNC Machining is necessary. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Study blueprints to determine the sequence of operations and finished dimensions of work pieces. Operates a forklift, Jibs & Overhead cranes. Operates 2-axis lathes and 4-axis mills. Learn Tooling identification/selection process per program requirements. Learn basic Lathe & Mill setups and or fixturing. Selects appropriate program for job, observes feeds and speeds are correct. Makes offsets or adjustments according to part inspections. Assists in documenting machining processes and First Articles per job runs. Meets or exceeds standard run times. Maintains equipment & work area in a clean & orderly condition. Carries out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications. Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s). Participates in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV. Complies with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures Ensures compliance of the company's overall objectives. Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Plant Manager. High school diploma or equipment. 6 month's experience in a manufacturing environment a plus. Prior forklift experience a plus but not necessary. Must have a willingness to learn new skills. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to comprehend instructions. Legible writing skills are preferred. Must be able to execute assigned duties with supervision. Must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) as it relates to the job. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Must be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of 8 hours. Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting. Lifting up to 50lbs occasionally with assistance.
