Job Summary:As a Group Home Paraprofessional, you will work directly with individuals in a residential setting, assisting them with daily tasks, personal care, and community involvement. Your role is to provide emotional and practical support, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for the residents. You will be part of a dynamic team, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with I/DD.
Responsibilities: - Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients in developing life skills, such as communication, self-care, and social interaction.
- Implement care plans developed by the Qualified Professional (QP) to meet each resident's individual needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment within the group home.
- Escort and accompany residents to appointments, activities, or outings in the community.
- Document daily activities, behaviors, and any incidents following company guidelines.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent and quality care.
- Provide emotional support and build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
- Respond to emergency situations and follow established safety protocols.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm, respectful, and compassionate manner.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
