Responsibilities

  • Business Accountability: Oversees all aspects of the business unit operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Customer Relations: Builds and sustains positive relationships with customers.
  • Financial Oversight: Develops, communicates, and ensures the delivery of accurate and responsible budgets.
  • Market Awareness: Researches local business dynamics and adapts operations to align with cultural and competitive landscapes.
  • Team Leadership: Guides and mentors direct reports to foster a high-performing team.
  • Employee Development: Partners with HR to enhance employee skills through training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Compliance Ownership: Ensures adherence to all regulatory, customer, and internal policies.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifies root causes of issues and implements effective action plans.
  • Business Improvement: Justifies investments and leads initiatives to enhance business operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drives process improvement initiatives to advance the units.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Ensures the right talent is in place at all times through proactive recruitment strategies.
  • Policy Implementation: Enforces executive policies and aligns them with company procedures.
  • Certification & Training: Completes required certifications

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of management experience in relevant industry
  • Proven financial management experience with budget responsibility for a single unit (multiple units preferred).
  • Track record of successfully managing teams of supervisors and managers (multiple units preferred).
  • Labor relations/union management experience required.
  • Customer service or account management experience required.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and build diverse teams.
  • Innovation and operational improvement experience to enhance work environments and performance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word).
  • Quality auditing and inspection knowledge.
  • Effective problem-solving, planning, and scheduling capabilities.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-departmental and customer interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compliance & Certification:

  • Experience managing multiple operations in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, HACCP, security).
  • Ability to obtain AOA badge and customs seal.
