Health & Safety Coordinator (1-Year Contract)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Downtown) - ONSITE
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Coordinator to oversee and enforce safety policies across our Los Angeles and Carlsbad offices. This position plays a critical role in implementing health and safety initiatives aligned with our Americas region strategy. The successful candidate will identify and manage safety risks, ensuring compliance with all global, regional, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement health and safety programs to ensure compliance with adidas policies and local regulations.
• Support the execution of the HSEE Americas health and safety strategy, focusing on California locations.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize health and safety practices and enhance workplace safety culture.
• Analyze and report on health and safety performance indicators, driving continual improvement.
• Serve as a liaison for global/regional health and safety programs and external regulatory agencies.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with local and ISO standards.
• Lead incident reporting and root cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented.
• Support and deliver health and safety training for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
• Manage emergency response plans, including coordinating evacuation drills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (local, global, ISO standards) and risk management principles.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., Wastewater, RCRA, CARB).
• Experience in incident investigation and case management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
• Expertise in implementing and improving health and safety management systems.
