Job Title: Wire Specialist

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Schedule: Full time – M-F (8am-5pm or 9am-6pm)

Contract: 2-month contract (potential to extend)

Pay rate: $16-17/hr

Job Summary

The Wire Specialist (Payment Processor) is responsible for managing wire transfer operations for a community bank. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of wire transactions while adhering to compliance standards, bank policies, and security protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customer service, wire transfer systems, and banking regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers efficiently and accurately, including domestic and international wires.
  • Monitor and resolve wire transfer exceptions and discrepancies promptly.
  • Verify and validate wire transfer instructions to ensure compliance with banking regulations and fraud prevention protocols.
  • Provide support and guidance to customers regarding wire transfer procedures and requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to investigate and resolve wire-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all wire transfer transactions for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including OFAC and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve wire processing workflows and reduce risk.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, banking operations, wire transfers, or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • Experience in a community bank environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with wire transfer systems such as SWIFT, Fedwire, or other electronic payment platforms.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, including OFAC, AML, and Regulation E.
  • Knowledge of international wire transfer processes, including foreign currency exchange.
