We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience and a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring that bids are competitive and aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
- Identify materials, labor, and time requirements for each project.
Bid Preparation:- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit them within deadlines.
- Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and pricing.
Collaboration:- Communicate with project managers, architects, and engineers to clarify project scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to review and finalize bids.
Project Analysis:- Conduct take-offs and quantity surveys using estimation software.
- Assess potential risks and opportunities associated with each project.
Market Research:- Stay updated on industry trends, labor costs, and material prices.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Documentation:- Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and related documents for future reference.
- Prepare post-project analysis reports to refine estimation practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial projects.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
