Job Summary

SafeNest is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and resources to individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Our work is to empower survivors, raise awareness, and work towards a violence-free community.

The Grant Director is responsible for overseeing the entire grant lifecycle, from identifying and securing funding opportunities to managing and reporting on grants. This role requires a strong understanding of grant processes and compliance regulations, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of current grant programs.
  • Grow the Grants Department through research, identify and pursue corporate, private, and government grant opportunities.
  • Write and submit detailed, persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with our mission, organizational goals, and donor requirements.
  • Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar, tracking deadlines, submissions, awards, and compliance reporting.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and executive teams to gather necessary information and ensure seamless grant-related activities.
  • Provide guidance and training to program staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the grant's activity and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports to funders, including financial and programmatic updates.
  • Additional duties as identified and assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of proven experience in grant management with a successful track record of managing portfolio of $6-10M+.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), and Technical writing required.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and honoring the stories of the individuals we serve.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • This position will primarily work in an office environment and must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and use a computer or other office equipment.
  • There may be light lifting or moving of office supplies and equipment.
  • The work may require occasional evening and weekend hours to attend events or meet critical deadlines.
  • The work environment may be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and situations.
