Job Description :

Akkodis is seeking a Problem Sheet Engineer for a 20-month W2 contract job with a client in Chattanooga, TN. This is a basic engineer position performing analysis for automotive manufacturing.

Rate Range: $38.00/hour to $40.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Role Summary:

Responsible for the leading the cross-departmental analysis of the pre-series process in preparation for product launch. Technical analysis of the forthcoming product and process changes to lead the preparation of the pre-series build process. Tracking of the pre-series build process to analyze production readiness and establish countermeasures for problem areas. Ensure a smooth transition from pre-series to series launch by driving a cross-departmental team to solve issues and implement countermeasures on-time.

Problem Sheet Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Technical analysis of engineering changes in preparation for new Projects and Model Changes
  • Specify the pre-series vehicles required for the plant pre-series evaluation.
  • Schedule pre series vehicles in collaboration with pre series logistics and manufacturing
  • Tracking of pre-series issues found during the build process.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of the pre-series vehicles to the customer.
  • Initiation of and participation in root cause analysis concerning failures of new design in whole car groups and in interrelated systems.
  • Cross departmental analysis of pre-series process in preparation for product launches using technical references and with the aid of digital systems.
  • Preparation/ suggestion of proposals for solution for product-, quality, and process-related problems in case of prototyping, including the accomplishment of correction measures or initiating agreed measures for responsible division, such as planning, quality, and R&D.
  • Preparation and execution of program-related material demand calculation, initiation of corrective measures, and initiation of procurement / order process.
  • Analyzing of work processes, evaluation and displaying of improvement measures of the manufacturing quality, cost, ergonomics, environmental sustainability, and operating safety.
  • Preparation and arrangement of workshops for special issues
  • Support of staff regarding the corrective-action-process for pre-series and plant-corrective-action-process
  • Elaboration of measures for technical and functional improvements of components and active participation in the implementation of future products (frontloading)
  • Consideration of pollution control aspects, of operational safety and ergonomics.
  • Follow up on engineering changes and implement them in series production.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years job related experience
  • Engineer Degree
  • Ability to read/understand technical drawings/requirements and use inspection related equipment.
  • Experience with vehicle electronic networks/systems.
  • Ability to use CAD/CAM/Catia/Pro Engineer data is a plus.
