JOB OVERVIEW• Job Title: Hematology Oncology Physician• Specialty/Dept.: Hematology Oncology• Job Type: Locum Tenens• Location: Nags Head, NC• Service Setting: Outpatient Only• Coverage Type: Clinical Only• Coverage Period: September 2, 2025 – September 4, 2025• Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM daily PATIENT INFORMATION• Patient Demographics: Adults• Patient Volume/Census: - MD: 12-14 patients/day - APP: 8-10 patients/day• Case Mix: General Hematology and Oncology Cases FACILITY INFORMATION• Trauma Level: N/A (Critical Access Hospital with 21 beds)• EMR System: Epic/Beacon• Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesiologists, Onsite Radiologists• Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)• Reason for Coverage: Temporary Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes• Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS• Rate: TBD• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in an outpatient setting• Collaborate with APPs and support staff to ensure continuity of care JOB REQUIREMENTS• Licenses: Active North Carolina License• Certifications: Board Certification, DEA • Experience: - Clinical experience in hematology and oncology - Familiarity with Epic/Beacon EMR systems preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Deliver high-quality hematology and oncology care to adult patients in an outpatient setting• Collaborate with APPs and other healthcare providers• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic/Beacon EMR• Ensure seamless coordination with Vidant Air and Vidant Ground Support for patient transfers as needed• Participate in orientation on-site the day prior to the shift start FACILITY DETAILS• Outer Banks Hospital is a 21-bed critical access hospital with 3 operating rooms and 1 C-section room• 24-hour laboratory availability• Vidant Air and Ground support for immediate patient transfers
