General Shale Brick is seeking a Sand Mix Operator for our manufacturing facility in Stanton, KY. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tends machine that grinds and mixes sand and clay into slurry for application on brick.
- Weighs materials according to specified formula.
- Adjusts and services all machines as needed.
EDUCATION:
- High school or equivalent required
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years experience in brick making preferred.
- Previous experience overseeing machinery preferred.
- Understand machine adjustments.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Able to perform various form of physical labor (i.e lifting 100 lbs to height of 5 feet/ standing/ frequent walking 1/2 - 2 miles each shift)
- Frequent handling, carrying, climbing, bending, twisting. Use of both hands and arms and legs.
- Must not be sight or hearing impaired.
- Attention to detail. Constant awareness to operation of machines.
- Work independently.
- Read, write, speak English and basic math to record data correctly.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Regular attendance required.

- Able to work flexible hours when needed
