Job SummaryThe Recreation Internship will train alongside the Recreation Managers and staff in the recreation department's summer operations. The focus will be on enhancing the Intern's guest services management skills through hands-on training. The Intern will learn all the necessary techniques of effective customer service by working alongside our recreation team at the Activities Desks and recreation programming. The Intern will effectively work in a recreational area and be able to independently guide guests throughout their activities while complying with all safety and security measures.Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold and support recreation expectations of Great Service, Quality Programming and Safe Recreation. Effectively use the Crystal Clear Guest Service techniques and guidelines.
- Follow activity standard operation procedures (SOP's) and uphold facilitation standards for Mountain Activities outlined in training.
- Successfully offer, upsell & book activities for resort guests in operating systems. Utilize reservation and membership software to differentiate between clientele services.
- Support the desk at the Park at Water's Edge and Mountain Adventure Zone.
- Perform all daily desk operations including reservations, accurate relay of information, sales and transactions, rental and resort information.
- Perform daily set up, end of day pick up, and cleaning/organization of recreational equipment.
- Complete daily opening and closing standard operation procedures for the desk, as well as additional paperwork required for reports, rentals, wait lists, hot sheets, and reservation forms.
- Assist in back of the house upkeep. Keep desk organized and presentable at all times.
- Provide customer service at daily bike rental operations, providing trail guide and bike tour information for guests.
- Effectively use Net Promoter Score information and guidelines.
- Understand liability and safety procedures for all activities. Understand safety logs and shift administration.
- Able to take responsibility independently in recreation area and guiding guests.
- Assist with hosting, organizing and supervising recreation programming.
- Shadow Shift Leads & Supervisors to enhance leadership skills.
- Supervision and facilitation of games at specific recreational areas at the adventure park and on property.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job SpecificationsCompetencies:
- Previous recreation and reservation experience is desirable, but not required.
- CPR/First Aid Certifications required/provided.
- Previous experience working with children a plus.
- Excellent guest service.
- Must possess a high level of concentration, self-motivation, the ability to multi-task and the drive to have fun.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Computer literate: Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point. Adaptable to learning new and customized software programs)
- Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, have a sense of urgency to complete projects and be detail oriented.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Adapt at managing fast paced environment.

Education:
- Must be enrolled in field related educational program.
- Internship program requirements will need to be presented prior to internship approval.

- While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
