Visit us online at www.arcxis.com .Overview: The focus of this position is to conduct daily field observations and to collect relevant construction data at newly constructed single-family homes, and multifamily dwellings. Data collection is related to builder risk management, insurance compliance and quality assurance for multiple systems and components during the entire life cycle of a typical construction project, such foundations, framing, exterior wall and roof weatherization, MEPS, exterior cladding, fire and sound rated assemblies, etc. The Field Observer provides:
  • Observations of construction to verify and document compliance of observed construction with plan and manufacturer specifications and building code and to identify other potential construction defect risks.
  • Consultation to assist builders with solutions to identified problems including, assistance in developing effective containment and corrective actions to ensure systemic elimination of associated risk.
  • Provides field training to builder and contractor representatives on an as-needed basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform field observations of construction and safety.
  • Review building plans and other specifications related to assigned projects.
  • Travel daily to multiple jobsites.
  • Collect photos and data utilizing proprietary software.
  • Complete and submit observation reports.
  • Walk with project site management to review findings.
  • Complete job costing, time entry and other reporting.
Reports to: Vice President of OperationsRequirementsEducation, Experience and Desired Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or AA Degree
  • Five (5) years of construction experience and/or two (2) years of field experience supported with degree in related field of study
  • Ability to read construction blueprints
  • Possession of blueprint reading course completion certificate (Preferred)
  • Possession of ICC IRC- B1 Inspector Certificate or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Possession of other ICC certifications (Desired)
  • Possession OSHA 10 Certificate For Construction Safety (Preferred)
  • Possession of UAV Pilot (Part 107) Certification (Preferred)
  • Experience in Quality Assurance (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibility: NoneWork Environment: Outdoors. Construction sites.Physical Demands:Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and can navigate construction projects covering various terrain, building types, architectural designs, and safety risks, including but not limited to underground conditions, various scaffold types, ladders, construction elevators, attics, etc.Transportation:Reliable transportation is required to accommodate testing equipment and a ladder. This role may involve driving over 100 miles per day. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and maintain state-minimum auto insurance. To support your travel needs, the company provides an auto allowance to help cover maintenance costs and a fuel card for company-related travel.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time / 7am-4pmTravel: Throughout Southern California. Ability to travel outside of the geographical area to assist in other regions as needed is desirable.Salary Description $65,000 - $85,000 per year
