Requirements
Client has a vacancy for a z/OS Systems Programmer whose primary responsibilities will include:
Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems, and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.Providing production off hour coverage (if necessary) and supporting periodic weekend implementations.Experience / Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, and basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.).Working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing is a plus.Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.Experience working with an enterprise-wide, large scale implementation.Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.Education: Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical field is required.
