Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the company's technology strategy around HR and financial systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives, setting roadmaps and driving beneficial change into the organization.
  • Team Management: Oversee and mentor a team of software engineers, project and development managers, and other IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Project Oversight: Manage the estimation, planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, operations and business support teams, to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, system health, performance and deployment processes.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to technology initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maintaining/improving technology costs for both capital and opex.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 7 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale projects and teams. Minimum of 5 years working with offshore and nearshore resources from either third-party relationships or a self-managed ODC.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in a variety of programming languages and technologies, with a strong understanding of agile software development methodologies, ITIL, and security best practices.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, with a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement technology strategies that drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Skills:

  • Practical experience in managing large scale ERP environments and business critical integrated systems including, patching, minor and major releases, migrations and/or new greenfield implementations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR processes, payroll, benefits administration, financial reporting, tax, treasury and systems integrations.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and how these impact ERP and related financial and business applications.
  • Experience working with public company and industry regulations (SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPPA, SOC2, NIST, etc.).
  • Knowledge and working experience in managing AWS, Azure or other cloud environments.
  • Good understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile Scrum/Kanban, Waterfall, DevOps) and experience creating CI/CD pipelines, packaging, deployment and maintaining application lifecycles using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience using and integrating ERP's with automation and scheduling tools (e.g. Appian, MSFT Power platform, RPA, Autosys, Winshuttle, Tidal, etc.) and its use in large organizations.
  • Experience with identity management integration; Active Directory and Okta a major plus.
  • General Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and standards.
  • Proven project management abilities to guide complex projects and the ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience with demonstrable experience driving large projects to completion.
  • 5+ years of experience managing outsource service providers and offshore support models.
  • 7+ years' experience as a Senior IT leader with techno-functional hands-on experience managing back-office applications in an Enterprise size company experience is mandatory.
  • Business functional experience with finance, accounting, HR and legal.
  • Experience with Java and .Net platforms.
  • Functional knowledge of SAP ERP, Workday or similar SaaS HR application, budgeting tools, lease accounting software, payroll, time and attendance, performance management systems, employee self-service portals, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels appropriately in the organization from associate to senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create work relationships across multiple areas, engaging with stakeholders, vendors and suppliers, their teams, and other employees.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize activities for team members.
  • Ability to motivate, guide, evaluate performance and develop team members.
  • Proven track record in process streamlining and cost reduction resulting in reduced project and maintenance costs and faster time to market.
  • Well-rounded in both delivery and operations of IT systems resulting in more stable and supportable applications and platforms.
  • Strong focus on fostering close relationships with business teams and IT partners.
