We're seeking a future team member for the role of Liquidity Risk Vice President to join our Corporate Treasury team. This role is located in New York, NY (Hybrid).

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Understand and explain movements in Liquidity Risk Reporting (including daily LCR / NSFR / FR2052a); Conduct ad-hoc analysis to explain liquidity risk drivers.
  • Contribute to reports that provide clear and accurate analyses and that identify and track risks.
  • Ensure proper controls on the quality and integrity of reports produced for senior management and ALM committee processes.
  • Perform impact analysis and test of various data quality issues impacting liquidity reporting.
  • Perform historical and data analysis on BNY deposits as well as examining the liquidity impact of various deposit movements.
  • Support interactions with supervisory teams by drafting regulatory responses, supplying requested data, and explaining rationale behind any analytical assumptions.
  • Lead and coordinate projects with multi-disciplinary teams across Corporate Treasury, Risk, and Finance, and the businesses; manage timelines for project deliverables and communicate status updates to stakeholders and senior management.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • No direct reports. Provide leadership to less experienced team members, guiding and coaching them on their work accuracy and quality.
  • Work under minimal supervision, provide expertise to the policy writing, liquidity assessments, analytical research, data gathering, calculations, modeling, and forecasting related to controlling the risks associated with assets, liabilities, liquidity funding.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders and continue to build a broad range of knowledge spanning the range of treasury, capital, and asset and liability categories across the organization and its varied products/services.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and to succeed in an unstructured and changing environment.
  • Adept at interpersonal interactions; ready to work with and communicate with multiple partners to bring tasks to completion.
  • Experience with liquidity stress testing, liquidity risk management, interest rate risk management, capital management, and/or asset-liability management within large complex financial organizations preferred.
  • Implementation, creation, and communication of new documentation and reporting control standards across the organization.

Preferred skills include the following:

  • Bachelor‘s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, ideally in economics, business analytics, information systems, finance, or business administration (MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred).
  • An advanced user of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Process and project management skills are an asset.
  • Experience with or an openness to learn Python and/or SQL coding languages.
  • Experience with or an openness to learn Tableau and/or PowerBI data visualization software.
  • Audit, regulator, and/or model risk background.
  • Strong background in finance/banking, and solid understanding of bank liquidity regulations including the Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR).

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $78,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Finance helps our internal clients outperform over time. At BNY Mellon, Finance serves our internal clients by providing world-class accounting operations and control and decision support while instituting world-class change management. Global Procurement is responsible for establishing the programs to acquire products and services for BNY Mellon by employing deep category knowledge and commodity expertise, coupled with an understanding of the needs of our businesses and business partner groups. The Corporate Treasury group is responsible for managing the investment portfolios and the liquidity and capital positions of the various subsidiary banks and of BNY Mellon.
