COMPANY BACKGROUND
Airport Synergy Group LLC (ASG) is a Joint Venture between Avports LLC, Jacobsen|Daniels Associates LLC, and Consolidated Management Professionals. ASG brings 120+ years of collective experience in world-class commercial aviation operations. After previous cooperation and successful collaboration among its partners in the past, ASG was recently awarded the management contract to provide Property and Equipment Management Services at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), on behalf of the Tom Bradley International Terminal Equipment Co. (TBITEC).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Director of Facilities and Equipment Operations will serve as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to the operations and maintenance of the common use facilities and equipment at LAX. S/he will hold the day-to-day responsibility for the safe, efficient and effective upkeep of common use facilities and equipment as assigned. The Director of Facilities and Equipment Operations will work closely with all LAX Stakeholders to build an effective working rapport, document issues and resolve all matters on a timely basis. Working with and through the vendor and management teams, the Director of Facilities and Equipment Operations will be responsible for and will guide all aspects of the LAX common use maintenance program to include oversight and management of assigned equipment, facility, and related services. This will include, but not be limited to:
- Overseeing the establishment of a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure facilities and equipment are properly maintained for optimum operational capability at all times.
- Overseeing the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the baggage handling system, passenger boarding bridges, preconditioned air and ground power systems, potable water cabinets, common use terminal equipment, and other equipment and systems as may be assigned.
- Administering vendor agreements and monitor the timely and effective performance of contractual obligations.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of an effective and efficient preventive maintenance program, training program, inventory control system, quality assurance, and recycling program; establishing effective standards.
- Implementing training, continuous programs, and quality assurance programs to optimize performance, reliability, and safety.
- Acting as a liaison between TBITEC, LAWA, and the LAX Stakeholder group, including but not limited to member and non-member airlines, airport staff, DHS, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Reviewing work performed, technical publications, proposals, incident reports, and other materials to advise senior management, TBITEC, and LAWA.
- Overseeing the receipt and commissioning of new equipment, as well as the integration of equipment into the applicable common use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Reviewing and preparing operating and capital plans and budgets; administering budgets, overseeing projects.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary. The Director of Facilities and Equipment Operations will be available on a 24-hour/365-day basis and at all times act in the best interest of 1.) safety & security of the airport and its occupants, 2.) TBITEC, 3.) the Airlines serving Los Angeles International Airport, and 4.) the traveling public and will observe and obey all ethical and legal obligations entrusted in the position.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and equipment of maintenance operations, maintenance control programs and management.
- At least 7 years' experience as a Senior Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Director, or Facility Manager.
- Strong technical inclination with proficient knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, welding, corrosion control, mechanics, PLC circuits, maintenance, test equipment, and other basic trade skills.
- Ability to manage multimillion-dollar budget annually; forecasting for multi-year plans.
- Demonstrated ability to handle all aspects of operations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Proven ability to interface with Government officials, including DHS, USDA, CBP, TSA, DOT, FAA, DEC, DEP, OSHA, EPA, CDC, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., Airport, Airlines, stakeholders, and tenants.)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
- Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a workforce consisting of professional staff, vendor staff, hourly employees, and union employees.
- Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills.
- Local demonstrated experience at LAX will be considered a plus.
DELIVERABLES
- Perform periodic inspections and provide written assessments on the condition of facilities and equipment and the effectiveness of maintenance programs.
- Suggest and implement effective performance metrics and key performance indicators to objectively assess vendor and staff performance.
- Periodically review CMMS system data, task lists, and maintenance schedules to ensure the maintenance program remains well aligned to the age and condition of facilities and equipment.
- Regularly meet with vendors to perform joint walks, review performance, and establish areas for improvement; keep meeting minutes and follow up on previous deliverables.
- Provide critical review of documents and prepare technical deliverables with a high degree of complexity.
- Draft reports, operating plans, incident reports, and other pertinent correspondence and documents.
- Demonstrate commitment, initiative, independent action and versatility while embracing challenging and diverse assignments.
COMPENSATION
- $185,000 - $192,500 per year

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Four-year degree in engineering, facilities management, or related discipline.
- Must possess a valid Drivers' License and clean driving record as a condition of employment.
- Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances from the respective authorities.
- IAP or AAE designation will be considered a plus.
