Description
H-CAP (Healthcare Career Advancement Program) is a national Labor/Management organization that promotes career ladder education for the healthcare workforce. H-CAP also supports the H-CAP Education Association, focusing on program and staff development in labor/management and union-based training partnerships in healthcare workforce development.
H-CAP is seeking a part-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will oversee the financial functions of H-CAP, a 501(c)(5) non-profit organization, and the H-CAP Education Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all accounting functions for H-CAP and the H-CAP Education Association.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Maintaining systems for property, vendor payments, and member revenue.
- Evaluating cash flow needs and projections.
- Preparing financial reports for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
- Maintaining bank records, month-end financial statements, reconciliations, and closing.
- Managing grant-related financial reports.
- Developing and overseeing the accounting database system.
- Creating and implementing Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Developing annual budgets with the Executive Director and staff leadership.
- Overseeing annual audits and ensuring timely completion of subcontractor and vendor contracts.
- Assisting staff with reimbursements and other financial matters.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing financial work in a non-profit setting.
- Experience with federal grant management.
- Knowledge of full-cycle accounting management.
- Minimum of 5 years as an accounting manager.
- Ability to operate financial/accounting software platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
- Good judgment and decisiveness.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
WORKPLACE PRACTICES AND POLICIES
Location: RemoteClassification: Part Time (18-20 hours/week), non-benefitedSalary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 per yearTime Off: 14 paid holidays, 2 weeks of paid vacation, 6 sick days, and 2 personal days per year.Remote Work and Equipment: Employees must provide a suitable workplace and will receive necessary equipment from H-CAP.
