Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP is seeking a Docket Coordinator with a minimum of 3 years of experience to work in our Phoenix office. This position works closely with other members of the Docket Department to maintain the Firm's docket system.

Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Performs electronic legal docketing via docketing software (CompuLaw) from court documents, correspondence, rules, and statutes; proven ability to independently research dates when necessary to supplement automated information.
  • Intermediate knowledge and application of County, State, and U.S. District Court rules and regulations.
  • Receives and reviews documents (correspondence, emails, forms, pleadings, etc.) submitted to the Docket Department for processing; determines the method of service; utilizes CompuLaw and its incorporated rule sets to automatically calculate due dates, deadlines, and/or events in accordance with the appropriate rules; manually modifies docket event descriptions as requested and/or required; manually overrides resulting due dates, deadlines, and/or events as necessary. Advises attorneys and staff accordingly.
  • Proofreads and reviews calendar entries to ensure accuracy.
  • Must have accurate typing and word processing skills and the ability to pay strict attention to detail. Spelling, punctuation, and use of grammar must be accurate.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, exercise attention to detail, and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong reasoning and memory skills.
  • A service-oriented individual who is able to work independently in a well-organized manner.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required and a college degree or equivalent is preferred. A combination of education and experience must demonstrate the ability to do the essential functions of the position.
  • A minimum of three years of California litigation experience is preferred and you must have experience working with a variety of court systems.
  • CompuLaw experience sis strongly preferred. A paralegal certificate is helpful.
