Job Description: Senior Patch Management Administrator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Patch Management Administrator to join our IT team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security, stability, and performance of our IT infrastructure by managing patching, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining secure and efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patch Management & Remediation:
- Deploy updates and enhancements to applications, software, and operating systems.
- Review Microsoft releases for desktop operating system security updates and create/submit related software packages.
- Monitor and address critical vulnerabilities through patch management or mitigating processes.
- Vulnerability Management:
- Collaborate with IT, Security, Compliance, and Business teams to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities.
- Plan, document, and execute vulnerability remediation in a structured manner.
- Support application and system owners in managing risks and resolving vulnerabilities.
- Technical Support & Documentation:
- Provide technical support to end-users for security-related troubleshooting.
- Document and update activities related to software packages, installation issues, and modifications.
- Create and maintain system configuration, vulnerability, and process documentation.
- System Administration:
- Administer server-side technologies, networked computing systems, and related performance monitoring tools.
- Utilize PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks.
- Ensure systems comply with corporate IT policies and security standards.
- Monitoring & Compliance:
- Oversee ITSM ticketing and vulnerability management systems for new notifications and tasks.
- Maintain awareness of emerging vulnerabilities and address them promptly.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience (One of the Following):
- Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of administration experience.
- Associate Degree with 5+ years of related experience.
- 8+ years of related experience in IT administration.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with domain controllers, Active Directory, group policies, and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Experience with vulnerability management, enterprise remediation, patch management, and system hardening.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and performance monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of security principles and software management best practices.
Preferred Certifications:
- ITIL certification.
- MCSA, CompTIA+, or CISSP certification.
- Other IT-related certifications are favorable.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to resolve emergency issues outside of regular working hours.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement processes.
