We are seeking a dynamic, experienced STEM Teacher Educator who is equity-oriented, technologically savvy, and integrates academic content through immersive, inquiry-based instruction. We are excited to announce the opening this fall (2024) of the fully renovated Dyson building which houses our state-of-the-art STEM classroom with adjoining Maker Space and separate Curriculum Resource room.Minimum Qualifications:The successful candidate will have teacher certification, teaching experience in P-12 schools, and a student-centered approach to preparing future educators. A doctorate degree in education P-12 or a related field from an accredited university is required. Applicants should be able to model culturally responsive pedagogical approaches across all courses and foster inclusive classroom environments.Essential Functions:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in STEM for elementary and secondary teacher candidates. These may include both math content and STEM teaching methods courses.
- Supervision and assessment of teacher candidates may also be included.
- Applicants should have an active research agenda that leads to high-quality peer reviewed publications and the ability to mentor student projects.
- Serves as academic advisor for students in the teacher education program
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years of classroom teaching P-16
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in educational technology and its application in STEM classrooms

The Teacher Education Department offers a variety of teacher preparation programs including: (1) elementary education, grades 1-6, with dual certification for students with disabilities (2) a birth through second grade add-on teacher certification, and (3) a 5-year MAT adolescence education program, grades 7 - 12, with dual certification for students with disabilities in eight content areas (English, math, social studies/history, biology, chemistry, earth science, Spanish, and French).
