Our client, a highly respected and growing general contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in K-12 construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity to lead impactful educational construction projects in the Austin area, with budgets ranging from $20 million to $300 million.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure alignment with project goals and address challenges proactively.
- Monitor project performance, including costs, schedules, and risk management, to maintain compliance with overall objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and other stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting, including contracts, schedules, change orders, and cost tracking.
- Lead the project closeout process, confirming that all work is completed to contractual and quality standards.
- Foster a positive, collaborative environment, and support the development and growth of team members.
Qualifications
- Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5 years as a Project Manager leading large-scale construction projects valued at $25 million or more.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead project teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage complex construction projects effectively.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of construction processes, project scheduling (including CPM), safety standards, and quality control.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders, including owners, architects, and subcontractors.
- Documentation Proficiency: Expertise in maintaining accurate and detailed project records, including budgets, schedules, and reports.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficient in construction management software, tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
