Salary: $73,412 - $91,765 annually depending on experience
POSITION PURPOSE
The Project Manager leads and owns the Credit Union's project management methodology, ensuring its consistent and effective application across all initiatives. This role is directly responsible for managing all Credit Union-wide and strategic projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. With the support of the AVP of Strategic Business Operations, the Project Manager exercises significant discretion and judgment in setting project strategies and timelines. This role will collaborate with various departments to help determine budgets, and resource allocation.
A critical part of this role is ensuring projects align with the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, and Core Values, prioritizing initiatives that enhance the member and employee experience. The Project Manager drives key decisions and collaborates across departments to implement strategies that support organizational growth, efficiency, and long-term success.
This position requires an advanced level of responsibility, decision-making, and judgment, making it integral to the Credit Union's operations and strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Project Ownership
Lead all components of project management, from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Fully own the Annual Project Approval Process, project planning, team coordination, and documentation.
2. Strategic Oversight
Make high-level decisions regarding project direction, strategies, and execution. Ensure that all initiatives deliver measurable outcomes that improve member and employee experiences.
3. Project Planning and Execution
Design project strategies, establish timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets with minimal oversight. Use independent judgment to address challenges and make critical adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Strategic Oversight
Drive the successful implementation of credit union-wide and strategic initiatives, ensuring projects support long-term organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
5. Risk and Issue Management
Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks proactively. Resolve issues effectively and facilitate escalations when necessary to remove roadblocks and keep projects on track.
6. Change Management
Maintain detailed documentation of project scope, requirements, and changes. Ensure all adjustments are managed through a structured Change Management process to uphold accountability and transparency.
7. Portfolio Reporting
Oversee the project portfolio and provide comprehensive reporting to executive leadership, ensuring transparency into timelines, resource allocation, and budget performance.
8. Process Improvement
Lead the refinement of project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and quality. Ensure that improvements deliver measurable benefits to both member and employee experiences.
9. Project Management Software Administration
Serve as the administrator for project management software (e.g., Asana). Train staff, ensure consistent usage, and use the tool to manage workflows, monitor progress, and provide real-time visibility into project activities.
10. Collaboration and Alignment
Foster collaboration across departments, building trust and alignment on project goals. Act as a key representative of the Credit Union in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
11. Resource Management
Monitor resource allocation to ensure current and future projects are staffed appropriately. Address resource gaps to avoid delays and ensure project success.
12. Standards Enforcement
Uphold the Credit Union's project management standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and alignment with strategic objectives.
13. Knowledge Sharing
Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues, promoting the adoption of best practices in project management and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
14. Efficiency and Results
Streamline project management processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce redundancy, and deliver high-quality outcomes that align with the Credit Union's strategic goals.
15. Documentation Management
Maintain a well-organized and accessible EPMO document library to support consistent use of project methodologies and tools.
16. Member and Employee Focus
Ensure all projects prioritize enhancing the member and employee experience, supporting the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
17. Performance Tracking
Monitor and analyze the success of implemented projects and process improvements, using data to inform future initiatives and ensure continued alignment with organizational goals.
18. Additional Duties
Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the Credit Union's mission and overall objectives.
Requirements
Education/Certification: 4-year college degree required.
Project Management certification or Advanced Degree strongly preferred. Comparable experience considered.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Comprehensive knowledge of project methodology and process development, strategic and tactical project planning, and budget management.
Experience working on 3rd Party software implementations, data migrations, and outsourcing.
This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.
Experience Required: Five to seven years' experience within project management or comparable education. Experience in the Credit Union industry or financial sector preferred but not required.

Proficiency in writing reports, proposals, and procedures, as well as the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders.
Familiarity with office applications and project management tools.
Ability to embrace change in a positive and supportive manner. Always projects a professional appearance and maintains a positive attitude at all times.
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematics Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Language Ability: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and use adjectives and adverbs.
