Classification Title:STU AST-NON-CLERICAL & ADMINJob Description:The Resident Assistant position within the Department of Housing & Residence Life is required to live on campus as a resident in a residence hall in an assigned room.General Responsibilities:* Enhance and maintain a sense ofshared community in the designated residential area by facilitating intentional interactions, social activities, and other opportunities for residents to interact with each other* Assist residents in the assigned residential area acting as a referral agent to available resources, services, and facilities on campus* Foster a culture of continuous care by serving in an on-call role and supporting our students through effective emergency management procedures* Know and implement Housing & Residence Life crisis protocol within assigned area* Assist in conflict resolution among residents by educating residents about housing policies and the mediation process* Consistently enforce Student Honor Code & Student Conduct Code by reporting observed violations through the appropriate process* Serve as a model of responsible behavior to assist residents in the transition to UF and throughout the collegiate experience* Create a residential environment that fosters a sense of belonging and encourages residents to utilize departmental and campus resources* Attend all scheduled staff meetings, and individual meetings with supervisor; participate in staff development activities* Support the University and Housing & Residence Life by serving and participating on task forces and committeesAdvertised Salary:The Resident Assistant will receive:* A stipend in the amount of $6,700 for a 9-month appointment (August 2025 - May 2026)* Semesterly housing rental agreement will be at the established rental rate for the Resident Assistant positionMinimum Requirements:This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.* Enrolled as a full-time student in good standing as defined by the University at the time ofemployment which includes a successful conduct/honor code review* Maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA the semester prior to employment* Be available for 20-hours per weekPreferred Qualifications:* Committed to facilitating interaction among members of the university community* At least one semester experience (online or in-person) at the University of Florida* Demonstrated ability to problem solve, manage time, and lead others* Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and timeliness* Ability to work well within a team and with individualsSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Applications must be submitted by 11:55 p.m. of the posting end date.* Completion of the application provides permission to access GPA and conduct record for conditions of employment needs* This position may require availability during university holidays, breaks, and nights and weekends* Applicants are encouraged to submit a résumé with application that includes all current student involvement, student organizations, or current employment on campus* Summer B employment is availableHealth Assessment Required: No
