Requirements / QualificationsLetter of Introduction Resume 2-3 Letters of Recommendation Transcripts of additional coursework if applicable Certificates of additional Trainings if applicableJob SummaryJob SummaryFULL TIME CAFETERIA COOK 8 hrs/daily, Monday-Friday, approximately 6:00AM-2:30PM 185 days/year, plus 11 holidays $10,000 annual health and welfare cap, CalPERS position DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Serve in the role as head cook, plan, coordinate, and perform the food service operations for the single-school district's breakfast and lunch program, following federal and state guidelines for National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. QUALIFICIATIONS: (in accordance with USDA Professional Standards for State and Local School Nutrition Program Personnel) - A high school diploma or GED is required - Valid California driver's license and proof of insurance is required. - Valid Serve Safe certification is required - Completion of 8 hours of food safety training within 5 years before start date or 30 calendar days after start date is required - At least one year of paid or unpaid experience in commercial or institutional quantity food preparation, including the preparation and serving of at least 100 meals per day. - Completion of courses pertaining to quantity food preparation, food services management, nutrition, sanitation and supervision is desired. - Experience in supervision of food service employees, menu planning, food ordering, food service record-keeping, and in preparing and serving varied and balanced menus are desirable. - Good work history, demonstrating verifiable reliability, and good work habits.
