Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction projects.
  • Oversee the construction site and manage general contractors to uphold quality and safety standards.
  • Review and approve Safe Work Permits and conduct daily safety briefings.
  • Coordinate site activities with the Prime Contractor's Site Superintendent.
  • Ensure project compliance with contract documents and good engineering practices.
  • Conduct quality inspections, retain and maintain a file of test and inspection reports.
  • Identify, mitigate, and track construction issues as they arise.
  • Adhere to legal regulations, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process.
  • Maintain and update Statements of Work (SOW) and construction documents.
  • Develop strong relationships with reliable contractors and vendors to meet contract obligations.
  • Acquire equipment and materials, monitoring stock levels to address inadequacies promptly.
  • Plan construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
  • Respond effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses from appropriate authorities/agencies.
  • Conduct Pre-Start inspections and maintain Pre-Start Checklists.
  • Regularly report project status to management.

Skills Required

  • Strong working knowledge of Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Construction, with pipeline experience considered a plus.
  • Proficient understanding of construction methods and technologies, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
  • Familiarity with building code requirements and scheduling methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Completed Construction Safety Practices and OSHA regulations training (30-Hour OSHA Training).
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial construction experience; Oil and Gas experience preferred.
