Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Obstetrics, Labor and Delivery Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum of 7 years in relevant field License: Current RN licensure Certifications: CPR certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment Must-Have: Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations Job Description: - Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice - Deliver care to women in labor through delivery and postpartum - Provide direct care to newborns, ensuring all aspects of maternal childcare - Perform assessments and monitor labor progress - Prepare for C-sections and inductions - Document nursing care accurately - Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care and patient education - Prepare delivery rooms and offer emotional support - Coordinate patient transfers - Administer IV medications according to protocols - Adhere to infection control principles and department policies - Exhibit knowledge and interest in obstetrics and relevant equipment - Interact effectively with diverse individuals and maintain good communication skills - Adapt to varying shifts and areas as staffing requires - Be on call as required - Work involves long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting, with exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and potential infectious diseases
