Cisco Engineer Wanted In Austin, TX

This position is for candidates location in the Austin, TX area only. This is a hybrid role, 3 days onsite/week.

Fortinet is REQUIRED.

Note:

Experience and knowledge of network physical infrastructure including but not limited to network ethernet and fiber optics cables, connectors, transceivers, patch panels, switches and routers physical ports/power supplies/modules, patch cords, wall plates etc. We need someone that is familiar with the network physical touch, able to install cables (not make them), activate ports, physically place Access Points etc, but at the same time with enough network knowledge in Fortinet to do the setup of new equipment.

The IT Infrastructure group is currently seeking an IT Network Specialist at our site in Austin, Texas US.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor global network equipment availability and health.
  • Troubleshoot and drive to a resolution a wide range of LAN and WAN outages and performance problems.
  • Maintain network equipment configurations with SW updates and HW refreshes.
  • Execute deployments of new network infrastructure, configuration changes, according to defined project specifications.
  • Interface with equipment vendors and service providers and manage service request escalations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a global community of end users and team members.
  • Create and maintain network documentation

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Layer 2 and 3 network protocols.
  • Fortinet OS knowledge is required, Juniper OS knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Forti-analyzer.
  • Experience operating wireless infrastructure based on Cisco and Juniper solutions is highly desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge of network physical infrastructure including but not limited to: network ethernet and fiber optics cables, connectors, transceivers, patch panels, switches and routers physical ports/power supplies/modules, patch cords, wall plates etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal, customer service, and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work and think independently with minimal supervision.
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP a plus.
