  • 340B Program Management (enables more patients to receive eligible services)

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the CEO, the Sr Controller/Director of Finance proactively drives the day-to-day management of Accounting operations of the company with a strong contribution to budgeting and financial analysis. The Sr Controller/Director of Finance thrives in a dynamic business environment with strong organizational skills and ability to go between leading and hands on contribution.

This successful leader works and communicates well cross-functionally. External relationships include vendors and customers (collections, and dispute resolution etc); bankers for account information or changes, stop pays, balance inquires, etc.; payroll providers for reports, sample tax computations, etc.; and other accounting contacts (i.e. government or state agencies, auditors, tax providers, etc.).

PURPOSE:

The Sr Controller/Director of Finance:

  • Ensures daily accounting and month, quarter and year end closing and financial reporting processes are completed efficiently, accurately, and timely
  • Ensures controls are in place to identify material errors and safeguard assets
  • Manages annual external Audit process and tax preparation process with external Auditors and Tax Accountants

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the assessment, implementation, and/or reengineering of accounting processes, systems, and operations; improve accuracy and efficiency and reduce the risk of material errors
  • Assist the CEO with special projects, planning, budgeting, financial analysis and other projects regarding Company operations; support Board level reporting
  • Provide external and internal timely, GAAP compliant monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting along with relevant analysis to guide timely company decisions
  • Ensure financial statements are complete and accurately reflect the financial condition, position and results of the company according to GAAP
  • Manage cash and reconciliation of cash accounts
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Manage year-end audit and provide information to outside tax preparers
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll processes.
  • Provide regular feedback/coaching and mentor staff to support the overall requirements of the Finance function

The Sr Controller/Director of Finance may be responsible for additional responsibilities, depending upon experience, skill, and desired growth path:

  • Strategic visionary for accounting management and Finance opportunities facing the company; Support the development and implementation of the company's strategic initiatives
  • Participate in developing specifications for current and new products to ensure proper interface with the accounting system

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Curiosity – ask questions no one is asking
  • Strong interest in continuous process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Ability to meaningfully summarize financial data
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Systems conversion experience a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
  • CPA; CMA or related post-graduate degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years professional finance and accounting experience
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Proven accomplishments in the areas of Responsibilities detailed above, driving continuous improvement in accounting operational processes and timely, accurate information for business decisions.

LOCATION:

  • Hybrid in office/remote
  • 3-4 days per week in office in Concord, CA
  • 1-2 days per week remote, optional

TRAVEL:

  • No required travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (80% to 100%) of the workday
  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds
  • May include bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, stooping, and kneeling
  • Close vision required

SALARY INFORMATION:

The expected pay range for this position is $200,000 - $225,000. Compensation is based on relevant experience. Ramsell Corporation provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
