Job Overview

We seek an experienced and driven Senior Systems Project Manager – BAS/DDC to lead the delivery of advanced building automation systems in the commercial mechanical construction sector. Based in the dynamic region of Tacoma, WA, this role will oversee the complete lifecycle of building automation projects, ensuring they align with client goals, industry standards, and sustainability objectives. This position is critical for professionals passionate about optimizing building performance through innovative automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of building automation projects, from design and planning to installation, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to define project requirements and develop tailored solutions that meet performance and energy efficiency goals.
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of internal technicians and external contractors, ensuring seamless integration and installation of building automation systems.
  • Provide expertise in implementing and integrating building automation systems, including HVAC controls and energy management solutions, using technologies such as Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, and BACnet protocols.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and final as-built records, to ensure compliance with standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Swiftly identifies and addresses technical and logistical challenges, maintaining project momentum and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Stay informed about evolving technologies, trends, and compliance regulations in the building automation and mechanical construction sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in the building automation or commercial mechanical construction industry, with a proven successful project delivery track record.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation systems, including HVAC controls, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Schneider Electric. Proficiency in project management tools like Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • PMP certification or similar credentials are preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse teams and build strong client relationships.
  • A stable and local work history is required, demonstrating reliability and commitment to the region.
