We're hiring a Payroll Administrator for a private school in Westchester County. The training period will be on-site, followed by a hybrid schedule of 2 days remote and 3 days in the office. The role reports to the Controller, and the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience processing payroll for 600+ employees.
Responsibilities -
- Review payroll entries for accuracy and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with employees and supervisors.
- Generate and save payroll-related reports in the correct files.
- Prepare and print paychecks, and assist the accounting department with bank uploads.
- Work closely with HR to verify pay rates and deductions.
- Generate payroll tax reports and handle tax-related journal entries.
- Create and provide payroll reports as needed.
- Keep the Manual Check log up-to-date and manage payroll filing systems.
- Adhere to the payroll schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Distribute paychecks and respond to any employee inquiries regarding payroll.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure payroll information is accurate and current.
Qualifications -
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience processing payroll.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and a strong understanding of payroll schedules.
- Highly organized work style.
- Proficient in MS Office.
