ABOUT THE JOB:
The site supply planner is at the center of Plymouth Tube's planning operations ensuring customer needs are met while maintaining our internal standards of quality and efficiency. The Site Supply Planner:
- Develops and manages daily and weekly production schedules that balance customer demands with operational efficiency.
- Provides accurate lead times for new orders by leveraging a comprehensive capacity plan, factoring in current orders, projected demand, and raw material availability.
- Collaborates with our Strategic Materials team to procure optimal raw material quantities that meet Plymouth's quality standards.
- Monitors and reports on key metrics such as schedule adherence, inventory turnover, order backlog, and prioritization, working closely with sales to achieve company objectives.
- Plays a key role in Plymouth's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Adheres to and models all site and corporate Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory requirements
- Ensures supply of material to support demand which may include assisting in resolving shortages, assisting in allocations of limited materials, and preventing potential schedule interruptions
- Ensure gaps in ability to supply are addressed, scenarios established, and issues appropriately escalated
- Works with manufacturing to help create production plans that meet inventory targets for finished goods and customer requested delivery dates.
-Sets the weekly production schedule which is approved by mill operations
-Adjusts the daily production schedule based off the previous day's results and anticipated
capacity requirements for the remainder of the week
- Analyzes schedule adherence, inventory and forecasting performance and identifies process improvements
- Participates in weekly planning meetings in addition to monthly Supply Reviews as part of the S&OP process
- Supports introduction of new products and product discontinuation
- Works cross functionally with all areas of the business, i.e.: Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations, Demand Planning and Purchasing to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities
- Leverage system settings and parameters to drive planning efficiency
- Manage Schedule Agreements and/or Purchase Orders for inbound finished goods and assemblies
- Communicates supply position to the business and performs “what if” analyses as required
- Maintains planning system and master data integrity as well as keeps assigned documentation updated following all departmental policies, corporate procedures and work instructions
- Contributes to business process definition and documentation and generally supports Supply Chain performance improvement plans
- Manages and controls the finished goods supply to ensure customer demand fulfillment is balanced with service, delivery and inventory
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Desired:Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management or Business Management plus 1+ years of Supply Chain/Master Scheduling experience
–OR—
3+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain/Master Scheduling role with proven and documented success in lieu of a degree
–OR—
Commensurate experience within a discrete manufacturing environment similar to a Plymouth Tube mill
- ASCM (APICS) certification preferred or attained within the first year in the role
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, advanced Excel)
- Demonstrates proficiency in use of a computer and various programs—including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience a must
- ERP System experience a plus
- Ability to work within and experience with MRP and Shop floor Control Systems
- Understands how to document production goals and deviations from these goals on a regular basis.
- Shows the ability to understand customer demand and how to optimize production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Acts as a liaison between vendors, customers, laborers and other departments within the company.
- Works efficiently under pressure and help motivate employees to meet demands.
