Job Description:

  • Patient Care:

    • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
    • Help patients with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and walking.
    • Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc.).
    • Observe and report changes in a patient's condition to the nursing staff.

  • Assistance with Medical Procedures:

    • Help nurses and doctors with basic medical procedures, such as changing dressings or taking specimens.
    • Ensure patients are positioned comfortably and safely.

  • Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report any concerns to healthcare providers.

  • Patient Comfort:

    • Provide emotional support to patients and offer companionship.
    • Ensure patient privacy and dignity is respected.

  • Housekeeping and Maintenance:

    • Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment.
    • Ensure patient equipment and supplies are well-stocked and clean.

  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team:

    • Work alongside nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
    • Qualifications:
    • Certification: Must be a certified nursing assistant, often requiring completion of a state-approved training program and passing a competency exam.
    • Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
    • Experience: Previous healthcare experience may be preferred but is not always required.
